Update on the Oath/Bond Situation for 2025/2026

In my last post on this topic, I had stated that I’d ordered copies of oaths and bonds from the State Senate Rules Committee on December 3, 2024 for some state senators and many staffers. Those oaths/bonds were due on December 17. As of that post on March 7, 2025, the State Senate had not provided any oaths. In that document, I’d also requested other information, as well.

In my last post on this topic, I’d also stated that I’d ordered oaths/bonds from the Secretary of State on 100 people. On February 10, 2025, the SOS stated that only two of those people had current oaths on file, and no one had a bond on file (the images of the letter are at the bottom of the previous post on the topic).

I always said that the large number of people lacking current oaths could be a mistake and that I was trying to confirm that the SOS information was accurate. However, the lack of bonds is intentional — it seems that the State of California stopped following the bond laws when Reagan was governor.

The two people with current oaths were Board of Equalization representatives Mike Schafer and Ted Gaines (Ted Gaines is currently on the board of directors for the Franchise Tax Board). Both had been elected in November 2022 for the 2023 – 2027 term and both oaths were filed at the end of November and were still valid.

On March 28, 2025, I talked to the SOS office. They said they were 3 months and 1 week behind on recordings, so they were still working on recording oaths that had been filed in December.

Of note was that Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis did NOT file an oath when she was re-elected in 2022 for the 2023 – 2027 term. Since her missing oath did not fall into the gap in recordings, it has been confirmed that she is currently working unlawfully without an oath.

On April 4, the SOS sent oaths for most of the assemblyman that I checked, some of the senators that I checked, none of the state senate/assembly staffers that I checked, and none of the people who work in the other government agencies that I checked.

Meanwhile, on April 1, 2025, the State Senate finally responded to my request for oaths. They provided only two current oaths for state senators: John Laird and Scott Wiener. They provided oaths for some of the staffers. All of the oaths were redacted, so we have no idea if they were signed or not. Most were expired, so even if they were valid at the time, they aren’t valid now.

After going back and forth with the SOS, on June 3, we finally got resolution on who does/does not have oaths. Below is the complete list of people I’d asked for oaths for the 2025/2026 legislative cycle and each person’s current status. If someone’s status is blank, I do not have an oath for them and will follow up on status.

Note: I am not suicidal, I don’t have depression issues, I am a careful driver, I rarely drink alcohol, and I do not use drugs of any kind (not even aspirin). My family lives a wholesome life. If something happens to me or my family that is out of character for us, we were set up by the State of California as revenge for exposing their crimes.
